First Witches Club: A Book Review

I haven’t had the clearest head for reading lately, but First Witches Club was a good one from my NetGalley list to fall into while my mind feels overwhelmed. Maisey Yates delivers a cozy, small‑town fantasy with a mix of magic, friendship, and warmth.

What felt a bit off to me was the dialogue. It sometimes came across as repetitive or on the nose, but reading in short bursts helped, and I still found myself smiling at certain moments. Though this is not quite the book for me, I am glad it is what I ended up reading when all I can manage right now is something light.

The heart of the book is the bond between the women. Their magic is woven through the story in a way that feels gentle and intuitive, more about connection and healing than spectacle. There are moments of genuine warmth in their interactions, and the setting has a comforting small‑town charm. The romance comes a little too fast for me, and I found some plot lines resolved a bit too conveniently. I also feel the emotional arcs could have been developed more. Still, the themes of second chances and rediscovering your own strength come through, and I appreciate that this story offered me a gentle way back into my reading habit.
